Reading through the Bible

On January 4th, we visited Clairmont Hills Baptist Church (which we had been members of when we lived near Decatur) and heard a sermon by Pastor Fred on reading the Bible. Audri and I both decided that we would attempt to read through at least the New Testament this year. Audri, though, began reading in Genesis with extreme interest and is currently in Ezra. She has been reading and sharing with me information on Israel's laws and customs, many of which make sense by today's science. The laws such as washing of the hands, separation of meat during food preparation and what not to eat are often objects of research and 'common sense' today. It is amazing how often we Christians forget the Old Testament as if it is outdated, Jesus said He came to fulfill the law not to abolish it.
